Annual BBQ dinner Fund Raiser - September 19th, 12-4PM

Tickets are $7 per person - Eat-in or Carry out and can be purchased from any Hickory Ruritan Club member.

 HRC's special BBQ recipe has won awards at the annual Holland District Founders' Day activities for the past 5 years, this year bringing home a trophy for 2nd place. So come out and taste some of the best BBQ in Southeastern Virginia.

Proceeds will be used to fund the club's many service projects and/or donations to Hickory area organizations.

The Hickory Ruritan Club of Chesapeake holds monthly meetings the 3rd Tuesday of every month. The meetings are held at:

The Hickory Ruritan Club holds monthly Bluegrass Concerts in conjunction with the Tidewater Bluegrass Music Association on the fourth Saturday of each month at 6 p.m. The concerts are held at our clubhouse and are open to the public.

The admission is $3 for members and $8 for non-members. The doors open at 6 PM - concert begins at 7:00 p.m.

Concessions are available and a 50/25/25 cash drawing is held.

Turkey shoots begin SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26th - 10AM - 5PM.

Our turkey shoots are going to begin soon, so mark your calendars and oil down your guns!

For those who have participated before, you know how much fun our Turkey Shoots are. For those who have never been before, come check out the fun - you may just go home with dinner.

Prizes range from various types of meat (turkeys, hams, bacon, brisket, steaks, seafood) to specialty items like a gun cleaning kit or knife collection to CASH!  Individual shots range from $2 - $10, with discounts for multiple shots in one round.

All proceeds from our turkey shoots go to provide college scholarships to high school and/or college students from the Hickory area. So, as you're considering whether to attend or not or whether to take that last open slot in a particular shot, remember - not only could you walk home with a nice prize yourself, but you will be helping a college student with their tuition.

Criteria:

> 12-gauge shotguns only. You may bring your own or the club has "loaners" you can use. If you bring your own, it will have to meet our standards - barrel length cannot be longer than 32" and barrel bore must be a minimum of .640.

> HRC will provide all shot.

> Children under 15 are allowed to participate but must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
